Kept looking and saw dandy, but then figured if it was none of the above, it would be better to have checked H than double D. And now I’m thinking handy was already an answer. ---

Fortunately, learning that the A was not in the middle brought up the probability of a terminal Y, and that narrowed things down significantly.
