A 2 today. Wordle 518 2/6\* β¬›πŸŸ¨πŸŸ¨πŸŸ¨πŸŸ¨ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 IRATE AVERT My opening word was a big help today, obviously. But I still had to wrench for awhile. Belatedly, I learned from WordleBot there were 23 possible words after my first try. Glad I didn’t think of any of them first – including ALERT! Sometimes starting before enough coffee is an assist. ---

You are _soooooooo_ lucky!! It would have been totally natural to figure that the vowels were probably in the second and fourth slots (just TA\_ER alone yields TASER, TAPER, TAMER, TAKER, and even TATER) and to try one of those first. Good thing you weren’t fully awake yet! ---

**Wordle 518 3/6** ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨 ⬜⬜🟩🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 BIOME PLEAT AVERT I could only see two words…agent and avert. Since there was a G yesterday, I went with the V - though that strategy doesn’t always pay off, but it did today. And the penultimate guess word for the day was Alert…6 people went with that, understandably so. πŸ˜‰ I luckily eliminated the L in my second word, else I’d have gone with it too. I also went with a new start word I haven’t used before just for something new and different, and I thought it was good for checking 3 vowels, though it doesn’t have the β€œcommon consonants”, but not every word has those of course. It didn’t really help today, but I like the word. ---

Wordle 519 5/6 SL **A** NT M_ER_CH G **RA** P **E** **BRA** K **E** **BRAVE** Looks like I’m not the only one who struggled with this one. I didn’t help myself when I went off my usual sequence on the second guess, but I don’t know if it would have made a difference. This also ends a streak of sorts for me: this is the first time I’ve gotten worse than a 4 since getting a 5 on #481, five and a half weeks ago. ---

I’m the same way about a 1. I’m sure SLANT will be a solution someday, though that may be years away for all I know. The question I ask myself is: when that happens, will I change my starting word (in the hopes of getting another 1 someday, obviously!) or will I stay with the one I’ve got? Probably the latter. ---
