Wordle 544 4/6 β¬›β¬›πŸŸ¦β¬›β¬› β¬›πŸŸ¦β¬›πŸŸ¦πŸŸ§ 🟦🟧🟦🟧🟧 🟧🟧🟧🟧🟧 UNITE BROIL VIRAL RIVAL I kicked myself for not using an A at two, but I don’t think it would have mattered; had I gone with, say, GRAIL, I still probably would have seen VIRAL before RIVAL. Wanted to put that R in the middle for some reason. It’s a mixed feeling having 3 β€œgreens” and 2 β€œyellows.” It’s like having a 1-inch tap-in for par, but knowing you _just_ missed that birdie putt. ---

I even went so far as to google previous answers to see which of probe, prone and prove have been answers already. (Only prove.) That left prone and probe, and I saw prone first, so it’s a 4 for me. The whole point of my strategy is that when I uncover a trap, I’m supposed to have already eliminated several of the possibilities with my β€œclamp store” opening. Doesn’t work so great when the trap letters are B, N, V. Ah well, such is Wordle. ---

Wordle 545 3/6 SLANT CH **O** _R_ **E** **PROBE** Sometimes the breaks go your way. After my second word, I was clearly looking at \_RO\_E words. PROVE and GROVE have already been used, but I still had BROKE, DROVE, FROZE, GROPE, and PROBE. Went with PROBE because it shared missing letters with BROKE and GROPE, but if both the P and B had stayed gray, I’d have had to flip a coin between DROVE and FROZE on my fourth guess. (Would have gone with the latter, given the time of year.) ---
