**Wordle 572 4/6** 🟨⬜🟩⬜🟨 ⬜🟨🟨⬜⬜ 🟨⬜🟩🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 TRACE BALMS EXALT LEAPT A past tense word! I know there haven’t been any words ending in ED, but I ignored all of the past tense words I came up with (dealt, meant, leant and leapt). I went with a sleuth word at 2, which I haven’t done that early before, as I wanted to check for the \_EAST trap (and Meaty). The result left Exalt as the only possibility, not including the past tense words I had. Nope…it _is_ one of those. So 4 it is for today. And now we know _some_ past tense words _can_ be used. ---

Wordle 572 3/6 ⬜🟨🟨⬜⬜ 🟨🟩⬜🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 STERN TEMPO LEAPT After guess 2 it clearly had to be a \_ETP\_ word or a \_E\_PT word. I ran through the first option for a few minutes, coming up empty (VETPH? LETPY?). With the second option, putting the A in front of that final PT looked likely to be successful (and that guess worked). ---

I think only words that are made past tense by adding -ED are verboten. LEAPT or STOOD, yes; MOVED, no. I assume the same applies to plurals - WOMEN and GEESE are fair game in my mind. ---
