**Thursday, March 2nd** Wordle 621 4/6 β¬›β¬›πŸŸ¨β¬›β¬› β¬›πŸŸ¨β¬›πŸŸ¨β¬› πŸŸ©β¬›πŸŸ©β¬›πŸŸ© 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 CLAPS TAMER AWOKE ABOVE So symmetrical! After 400 games I have 399 wins: 1: 0 2: 17 3: 143 4: 158 5: 66 6: 15 My average is now 3.8, where my first 200 games were I think an average of 3.7. That would make my last 200 games an average of 3.9. My longest win streak is now 201 and counting. ---

After three, I took the time to go through the letters left to see if I needed a test word. I could only come up with ABOVE and AWOKE so I went with a random guess. ---

My philosophy is to always assume a trend will continue. Like on a roulette wheel, if it comes up red five times in a row, bet red. Don’t bet black because black is β€œdue.” Maybe the table is biased and that’s why all the reds are coming up. Maybe red is actually β€œdue” because 3 hours ago there were 15 blacks in a row and red still hasn’t caught up yet. (That’s not how random numbers work. Nothing is ever β€œdue.” But it’s really easy to fall into that kind of thinking.) Not that the Wordle solutions are guaranteed random, but anytime I’m trying to guess an unknown next value, I figure there are two possibilities: It’s either random, meaning whatever I do is irrelevant, or there is some bias or inherent trend that is actually happening. There is no version where betting on what _hasn’t_ been happening is the smart play. That way lies madness, like the martingale where you double up after every loss. By this logic, the more I lose the less I bet. Once I start winning a lot I’ll start betting more. We may very well be in an extended double letter streak. Or it could just be random noise. If those are the possibilities, the smart play is to assume we’re in a double letter streak. ---
