After my second guess, it said PILED was a solid guess, and that I had narrowed the field down to five possibilities; DOZEN, MODEM, CODEX, DUVET, and DWEEB. This suggests that DOMES shouldn’t even have been an option. Obviously, it is, or the game would have forbidden me to submit it. Does this mean that a plural ending in S is never going to be the solution? It can’t really, can it? But then when I _did_ try DOMES, WordleBot said it was a good guess. My current guess is that WordleBot is full of shit. ---

I believe you can submit any β€˜valid’ word as a guess even if it is not a word that the game includes as a possible answer. It doesn’t use regular plurals like WALLS or DOORS (someone can correct me on this) or regular past tense verbs like BAKED, but I think a past tense like FOUND has been an answer in the past. You can use all those words as guesses to shrink the field, but they won’t be the answer. Wordlebot might even think BAKED is a good guess based on how well it narrows down your answer. ---

Immediately consulting the previous words list, I got a little help eliminating staff, stage, stair, stale, stand and start.
