I came sooooo close to going with CHIDE before CHIME. Those were the only 2 words that sprang to mind after SPINE, and CHIME just seemed more like a Wordle word. Turns out it was extraordinarily lucky, since WordleBot said there were 15 possibles after SPINE. I’ll take it!

Saw villa first but didn’t love that as an answer. Then saw aglow but that’s already been an answer. Finally saw viola, which I still didn’t love but at least I liked it more than villa, and figured checking two more vowels would help ensure a 4. That it ended up being the answer was just a happy accident.

Getting that one green on my second word helped hugely in narrowing things down. In fact, the hard part was finding words that fit! I first saw AFOUL, and I thought that was legit but not that likely, so I kept looking, and finally found the solution. Scoredle points out LOOFA which I missed. It’s in my 40 year old dictionary so I’d consider it legit if they ever use it.
