I was even luckier since my initial word eliminated all but the solution. It took me several minutes to figure it out.

The _really_ lucky parts were (1) that your starting word did that with just one green and one yellow, and (2) that you realized that you had things narrowed down that much.
In that situation, Iβd have probably fished for more letters on 2, wasting a guess and only realizing it afterwards.

I was playing on hard mode so I was stuck finding any word that had those two letters with one of them in the first spot. My luck was that was the only word available. No fishing available for me.

Ah, I overlooked the hard mode asterisk! Yeah, no fishing possible. Anyway, it was still lucky in the first way. That certainly hasnβt happened to me, where one green and one yellow (and three blacks, they help too) eliminated all but one word. Maybe itβs happened to others, but this is the first time Iβve seen it. Impressive!
