QUEUE - couldβve also been FUGUE, which I didnβt see until afterwards
Usually, my SLANT/CHORE combo turns up enough info to focus on the solution by my third guess. (Sometimes, like yesterday, I can do that after SLANT, but thatβs less common.) But when it doesnβt, I have two similar possible third words: GIMPY and DUMPY.
Iβve come to the opinion that GIMPY is usually better: D is slightly more common than G in Wordle solutions, but I is much more common than U. But one thing Iβll ask myself that can tip the balance is: is there room for it to be a Q-word? (A Q-word is really a QU-vowel word, thatβs most of a 5-letter word.) In this case, the answer was obviously Yes, but the solution was the only Q-word that would work. So I went with DUMPY, and if that U turned green with no other hits, QUEUE was going to be my guess.
This breaks my string of five 3s in a row, but Iβm perfectly happy with todayβs 4.
