After 2 I saw a swish, shush, squib and sissy, but I didnβt like any of them. Squib would be the only one I would try since itβs a real word β both a Hollywood blood pack to simulate getting shot and also a type of kick in football β but still didnβt like it enough to actually try.
Was about to sleep on it when squid came to me. Thatβs a real word! But no joy, and I was confused by the results so I slept on it. Then while brushing my teeth this morning, sushi came to me almost immediately after thinking about Wordle.

I had fun with this one!
After two, I was absolutely certain we were dealing with another Q here, and it took me a while to regroup.
So it has to either start with IU or end in I. Well, the latter is more likely, but I was drawing a blank for the longest time. Eventually I started pairing up consonants to go before the I, and finally hit on SH. Aha!
(It turns out QUIRK and SUSHI were the only real words left after two, so I was closer to a birdie than I realized.)

Canβt see why. It turns out that the only wrong thing you could have done on 3 was fish for more letters. (Seems counterintuitive when you only had 2 letters, but this word seemed to work like that.) Per Scoredle, after tossing out the bullshit words, the only possibilities were Sunny, Sudsy, and Sushi, and if your third guess had been wrong, whichever of the three you guessed, it would have eliminated one of the other two. So given your 3rd guess, your worst case was a 4, and best case was the 3 that you got. Tell Wordlebot to stuff it. π

CRANE 97 6: My standard first guess, calculated by Grant Sanderson. I like having the S, T, and L available to come up with my second guess when I need to freelance and donβt remember what Wordlebot recommends. I did remember this case, though.
**S** O_U_T_H_ 99 90: I think Wordlebot used to prefer SLOTH. There were two words left according to Wordlebot, but it took me forever to find them.
**S** _H_L_U_B 9 48: Having to put the U and H in other places was very constraining. It took me at least ten minutes to find a hard-mode possible answer. Finding out that the U and H went in _other_ places might be the most frustrated Iβve felt playing this game β even more than my X/6s. Wordlebot would later add insult to injury with that skill score β Iβm pretty sure thatβs the lowest non-zero score Iβve gotten.
**SUSHI** 99 --: I donβt know how many 5-letter words end with U, but I eventually convinced myself that U had to be second. I donβt think there are any words starting SUH, so that puts the H fourth β but whatβs third? Not a vowel, soβ¦ sugh? Suph? Sush? What about fifth? Y, possibly? Sughy? Suphy? Sushy? β¦ oh.

Those are Wordlebotβs skill and luck scores, on a scale of 0 to 99. Skill is a measure of how much a word is expected to reduce the number of possible words; luck measures how lucky your guess was.
As an example, my starting word is a very good choice (97/99), but it was unlucky for me that none of its letters were correct (6/99).

I felt like I was playing SOLID all over again! After my second try, I had SUSHI before SQUID, but due to my aversion to using double consonants, I decided to try SQUID first. Oops! WordleBot acted like I was a rock star, though. (I think it likes to see me fail.)
