WordleBot didn’t think much of my efforts, and I just have to share what it said to me today: “Although MOUSY left only one possible solution, some of this was luck: If the solution had been FUNGO, there still would have been two words to choose from. But you’ve narrowed it down to one possible solution. You should solve the puzzle on your next turn.” Um. Wut? I didn’t even know FUNGO was a word! Most useless bot ever.

This was an unfun slog. I saw a flood of possible answers after 1: bring/brink/drink/drunk, grind, swine/swing/swung, whine/whiny, wring/wrung, and I’m sure there are many more but at that point I also saw wound, which opened up the entire \_ound trap. My head was spinning so I slept on it. In the morning I was at a bit of a loss.

Normally I would guess scone at 2 because that uses my letters, but the only C words I could come up with were scone and crone, and there weren’t too many S’s either. Meanwhile, Ds were all over the place. Also a fair amount of Gs, so my first inclination was to check grind with my second guess. But that just didn’t have enough vowels for my liking so I kept looking until I saw drone.

After 2 I was stumped. I was pretty sure the D would come up yellow or green, but if not then at very least the R would come up green. When neither hit, it was an “uh oh” moment. Took several “I’ll come back to this later” sessions to finally see young – I was only thinking of Y as a vowel at the end – and the sun is now setting so the clock was starting to tick pretty loudly.

This one took entirely too much time out of my day.
