After 2, ‘would’ was the only word coming to mind, but I figured there were too many other possibilities to just go with it. (And there were ~15 legit possibilities, per Scoredle.) But I did go with ‘dumpy’ rather than ‘gimpy’ on 3 in order to test for it, which worked out well.

For me, this was a super-fast game. The mug was full and the coffee still hot when I solved it. Lucky second word, as is often the case.

This took forever. Last night I only managed to find lowly, which has already been an answer. This morning I saw nothing. At lunch I saw logic, but that’s also already been an answer. Finally now I saw could, and again that’s already been an answer, but that immediately led me to would. Finally!

As for mould: It’s a valid guess but it was not on the original answers list. Doesn’t mean the new editor hasn’t added it, but since it appears to be an exclusively British spelling, I tend to doubt it was added to the answer list. There is, of course, the word moulding in carpentry, but as far as I can tell that’s the only form of that word, always with the ing ending.
