Let me start with a sleuth word that eliminates a vowel) PLUMB (Okay, let me do it again) SIGHT (I can have STREP, STREW, STERN, or STEER And I have just the sleuth word to figure it out!) SPAWN (I don’t much mind that it’s a bogey) STERN On reflection, since STREP had already been eliminated, NEWER would have been a more elegant sleuth word. And the stupid robot wouldn’t have been able to complain about what would have happened if the solution had been STORE. Which I knew had already been used. And so did the stupid robot. I will never be persuaded otherwise. ---
