Wordle 1199 3/6 ⬜🟩⬜⬜⬜ 167 ⬜🟩🟨⬜⬜ 3 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 SLANT PLUME CLOUD Could’ve also been FLOUR, so a bit of luck there. I did something a bit different today: after my starting word turned up what it did, I realized there were a limited number of possible first letters, so I took advantage of that and went through the dictionary to find all the possibilities. I was going to get a fairly large number of possibilities, but the search was doable in a fairly short amount of time, maybe 15-20 minutes. The point was that I’d get a not-quite-random largish sample of possibilities to see how many had already been used. The upshot was that out of the 49 possibilities that I considered viable, 30 were previous solutions. Needless to say, that helped me narrow things down a bit in solving today’s Wordle, but it’s an interesting benchmark of where we are. Just for the fun of it, here’s the dictionary words I found but guessed that they probably weren’t possible solutions: BLOWY, FLYBY (needs a hyphen), GLEBE\*, GLOGG, ILEUM, PLIER (singular of PLIERS). \*If you ever spent much time in Alexandria or Arlington, VA, this is a familiar word. πŸ˜€ ---
