STARK
Wordle listed a good 35 legitimate non-plural words. Sometimes ‘tis better to be lucky than good.
BRAVO → OK, not a bad start - ooh, I can try one of my favorite first guesses second now…
ROAST → But it shouldn’t have been that one! I already knew the O was gone. Ah, well, four letters with one placed, I’ll go with the word I should have done here
STARE → And since it can’t be START thanks to the previous guess, it must be
STARK
I have a dilemma here: is it better to have made a horrible second guess that nevertheless assured a par, or to have made a good second guess that left you with a fifty-fifty shot at a birdie? I think technically the latter, but I probably would have tried START as a third guess anyway, so no real change in outcome. It’s a conundrum.
Well, I guess I’ll share this one timely.

Surprised to come up empty on a four-vowel starter. Steady incremental progress for the par!
STARK → I think we’re not in Westeros anymore, Toto. OK, try O & E and a couple more WoFcons…
LONER → Not much better. (I wonder if Scoredle would have gone with ERROR there, to place the R? Find out soon!) Time to start throwing consonants at it, and maybe a U too
CROUP → Placed both but no other hits. This looks a bit trappish. Might I have a double O? And, it’s time to trust the B
BROOD → OO yes, B no. Two more guesses…
GROOM
Didn’t need both guesses, fortunately. Scoredle didn’t try for ERROR (settled for CORER), but then immediately tried BROOD and then the answer, so it definitely had the inside track on me today.
