But my Scoredle doesnt work that way. It asks for the answer of the day, and then I input my answers. At the bottom it uses whatever start word it wants, followed by its own guesses. Wait. I reread your explanation and I see what you mean, now. ---

Wordle 1,271 3/6 🟩🟩⬛⬛⬛ ⬛🟨🟨⬛⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 PLANT IMBED PLUMB Disappointed with myself that I didn’t trust the B. I definitely considered it but ultimately didn’t love plumb as an answer. Also, imbed (apparently a valid alternate spelling) was such a perfect sleuth word to guarantee a 3 from the choices I could see: plush, plume/plumb/plump, plied/plier. Still salty about my streak ending yesterday that I couldn’t resist forcing a new streak, hard mode be damned. ---

Wordle 1272 3/6 ⬜⬜⬜🟩⬜ 210 🟨⬜⬜⬜🟨 5 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 SLANT GRODY to the max! VYING This was the first Wordle in a few weeks that was really _fun_. Seems I’d hit a stretch where every day was another slog to a 4. But this one made up for it. Having that green N on 1 narrows things down surprisingly well, and I’d already made up a list of unused prospects for when that one green is all I get on 1. Most of them either end in Y or in ING, and it turns out that all the prospects with a G at all, end in ING. So a G anywhere in a sleuth word would be a proxy for an ING ending, so why not find a sleuth word that had a G and ended in Y? I thought of GRIMY first, but I wasn’t in a lot of prospects; the most frequent vowel by far was O. Also, M was in only one of the possibles. So anything with GROxY? And that bit of 1980s slang popped into my head, and it was a really terrific sleuth word if Wordle accepted it. And it did, and it narrowed things down to the solution. Now if the solution had been BONNY, NINNY, or PENNY, I’d have had to do a sleuth word on 3, or risk a 5. But that was about as bad as it might’ve gotten. ---

And about the only thing that can go last would be D or G (or the aforementioned K). Assuming it’s G, and I can check the other with > D **YING** → I _am_ dying out here! Oh, wait - the V > **VYING** > DINGY as a third guess was key to Scordle getting this one in four - from flat nothing to four yellows and the other main possibility eliminated. Scoredle also shows ICING as a possible answer for me after three, which I never considered. I think I will have a brutal game that day when it comes up. ---
