The bolded sentence is true for me also. It was only a two weeks ago that Rebo told me that most plurals and -s verb inflections were never used. Was/Is that published as part of Wordle instructions? Is it wrong to use that knowledge? I do wrack my brain to think of words and then – like many others here – check them on the already-used list. I would LOVE it if NYTimes followed your suggestion and re-used words … but they don’t. And many of the words I think of are marked as colloquial or dialectic. Are they valid? _You_ are one who pointed out here that new words have been added to Wardle’s list. Reliance on the Wardle list may β€œbite one in the arse”! ---

Given that the first instance of a non-Wardle solution was Wordle #646, and through the end of July (Wordle #1503) just 17 non-Wardle solutions had appeared, that seems like a large enough sample to suggest that we’ll probably only see another 15-20 non-Wardle solutions the rest of the way, if they were to never start re-using solutions. Though I have to believe they will start doing that at some point just to be able to use this game indefinitely. ---

But it seems to be almost a universal rule of word games with a fixed size or minimum length that words ending in S are not used. (I’m not sure that even needs to be spoilered, it’s so common.) If you play Spelling Bee, you’ll notice that you rarely see one there. ---
