Wordle 1,606 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟨⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 SLATE CRONY JUMBO GIZMO I knew the vowels U and I were likelier than C and Y but thought Crony was the better tactic: I wanted to attack CH and words like Jiffy After that I could only think of 7 fitting words, 2 of which were already used: Gumbo, Jumbo, Bimbo, Dough, Gizmo (and already used: Idiom, Bough) Bimbo and Gizmo aren’t Wardle words (both are marked as slang), so there appeared to be only three possibilities. (What words did I miss?) All three were eliminated by Jumbo. _But instead of hunting for another word I tried for a Par with the NON-Wardle Gizmo, just to demonstrate that I’m not dependent on the “illicit crib-sheet”!_ ---

And a terminal O, which is often associated with repeat consonant(s) right before it… so I go from avoiding the waste to trying one. Let’s see if it works > _Z_ **I** PP **O** → Z! _ **Z** _ is my first consonant? Thought a while about how to use it and finally saw > **GIZMO** > > Turns out my bogey was a virtual tap-in - sure didn’t feel like it. Scoredle also bogeys the puzzle, and has similar trouble on the consonants, finding none until the fourth guess. ---

BOUGH was a minor mistake, as I tend to stay in hard mode when I can; but it helped me save par nevertheless. (I started playing around with my options in Scordle, and it turns out after my first two words it would have been difficult to _not_ get a par! It was just a matter of thinking of GIZMO, which took a while.) ---
