Wordle 1,625 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟨⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 TREND COALS WIMPY MUGGY The reports from #1625 are just coming in, but I see several of us who had zero hits after two guesses. I then compiled a list of 7 Never-used words that fit, and verified the doubtful cases in both dictionary and Wardle list. Hippy, for example, is only an alternate spelling of the noun Hippie, BUT is also an adjective in its own right (“Having large or prominent hips”). I didn’t like Wimpy (“informal, often derogatory”) but of my seven candidates it was the only one to guarantee Par (assuming the secret wasn’t some 8th word I hadn’t thought of – which it did turn out to be.). I found Muggy after Wimpy missed all the other candidates. Muggy is the 4th non-Wardle solution presented in the last few weeks. ---

Sigh - the power of trying to place a letter. But, when I let it answer on its own, it hits a mini-trap and finishes with a par. So it doesn’t humiliate me quite as bad as I feared. I feel very lucky that I had yesterday’s answer to start with - this could have been a really tough day if I hadn’t started with two letters to build upon. ---
