Scoredle gives my third guess 17/65, although it left me with but one valid word left for par (and seven bogus ones, so somewhat of a challenge I guess?) Scoredle’s followup leaves it with a 50-50 (or possibly 1-in-3, but I think the NYT would not allow the third as a solution) for birdie, but it misses and gets a par. ---

Wordle 1754 2/6 ⬜🟨⬜🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 SLANT INLET KNELT and UNLIT had been used. (Didn’t see KNELT until afterwards; those KN words are hard for me to spot. Lucky that it had been used already.) But getting three consonants right off the bat does narrow things down nicely. ---

So for my followup I started trying a bunch of letters to find possibles, and it hits on > _T_A **LE** R → Which is how I found out that I’ve somehow turned off hard mode, because what happened to the N? Which I didn’t expect, but makes the solution easy > **INLET** > > Scoredle can’t grade my followup, because its algorithm essentially relies on hard mode for its list of possibles. On its own hook, Scoredle gets a par, just missing a birdie (the solution was 2/20 after its followup).
