My followup was 9/122, so not bad on the scoreboard, and since the top 20 words per Scoredle were all valid, as well as many others, I felt it had a certain amount of skill. I was lucky to find a third letter when I made the second placement; the word ahead of mine in Scoredle order would have worked but left me with nothing to build on. On its own, Scoredle takes all three shots to place the E, finally finding it on the tap-in par try. ---

Wordle 1759 2/6 ⬜🟩⬜🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 SLANT ELFIN The BLOWN/FLOWN/CLOWN trio had already been used, leaving ELFIN and ELVEN. The latter struck me as more a Tolkienesque word than one that lived in the wild, so to speak. And just in case today’s solution were to be a repeat, ELFIN would ID or eliminate FLOWN. So the choice was easy. ---

I think the solution isn’t very similar to other words, which makes it easier to isolate. Although the NYT average is 4.1, which is high-ish. ---

Looks like everyone here who had either a C or Y in their first two words got a 3; those who had neither got a 4 at best. C is the most common consonant in Wordle other than the WoFcons, which is why my standard second word has it. (I generally don’t get to Y until my third word.) ---

I was trying to put it in one of first three spots and was trying just about every consonant I had left except, for some reason, the C. It took forever for the solution to click. ---
