“hiking the Appalachian Trail” - Mark Sanford stole this phrase from the backpackers; I’m stealing it back. “death panels” - Let’s let this phrase die with dignity. “You lie!” - This wasn’t remotely clever the first time, and repetition is not making it better. “Keep Fucking that Chicken.” - yeah, I’m tired of this one already. ---

I was talking with a friend yesterday. She started a sentence with “Like” and then asked her husband to stop her whenever she used that word. She continued with "I mean, you know … ". She might have wondered why I was smiling. I’m still hearing way too much “at the end of the day” and “boots on the ground”. And still with the “-gate” for scandals! Something (forgot what) was going on in Britain and they even used -gate! ---
