I’ve played guitar with a flatpick and my remaining fingers for almost thirty years. This year, I switched to using a thumbpick. This means that my index finger has to catch up with my remaining fingers in dexterity. As a result, I sometimes have to focus on not letting the index finger loaf and let the thumb and other fingers do the work. I sometimes tell people that I suffer from ‘lazy-finger’ syndrome, or **amblydigitosis**. (I’m not sure if I’ve constructed it correctly – IANAD, and my high school Latin is rusty). ---
