I don’t think that’s a sufficient apology. If they co-opt a symbol for whatever reason, then it’s their symbol, so others are free to characterize it as their symbol. It can be other things at the same time, such as just a regular meme or a web comic, but just because it is sometimes trolling doesn’t mean it is not also their symbol.

I am humiliated. I feel like I have been fooled. I always assumed that white nationalists were rednecks with no teeth. And I had no idea that frog was associated them.
