**Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots** by the Flaming Lips. I’ve not been able to get in to any of their other stuff but damn is this a great album. ---

Just listened to RUSH’s **Permanent Waves** again. Wonderful album. This was when RUSH came of their ‘long song’ era and started with a little more radio-friendly stuff. In my hometown, they started being the ‘biggest thing in rock’ with this album, followed by **Moving Pictures**. ---

I see your music tastes all over the place (ahhh, similar minds!). One I love Is **The Best of Louis Jordan**. It’s from either '75 or '77 1. It really has all of his hits on it. Caldonia. Saturday Night Fish Fry. Ain’t Nobody Here But Us Chickens. Beans and Cornbread. Knock Me a Kiss. 2. They’re almost all very high energy songs and fun. (Plus a few slower ones for when you take a break.) 3. I hate cleaning (or whatever you’re doing around the house) and I need music that makes me happy. And nothing makes me as happy as the blues! Good luck and make it fun! I need to get some stuff done tomorrow–I think I’ll have to get it out myself! ---

Not that it matters, but I’m painting, not cleaning the house. On to Day 2. First up is **Dave Brubeck** ’s Time In. I’ll be painting at least through tomorrow, possibly Thursday. Gonna need more recommendations. 🙂 mmm ---

Try some of the Baroque masterpieces. And not just Handel. For example, chances are you’ve never heard more than the prelude to Charpentier’s Te Deum, right? The rest of it is just as good. A good Youtube channel to hit for this stuff is GustavAdolphusRex. ---

Some individual song recommendations - maybe put them into Pandora, and see what else pops up? Florence + the Machine, “Ship to Wreck” Fall Out Boy, “Uma Thurman” Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, “S.O.B.” Hozier, “Jackie and Wilson” Modest Mouse, “Lampshade on Fire” Fitz and the Tantrums, “The Walker” This is a lively group of songs, so if you’re cleaning or doing other active projects around the house, this set (and whatever Pandora thinks matches well with it) will keep you rockin’. ---
