> I call bullshit on cold exposure. What about the hefty percentage of the world’s population that lives in tropical regions? Are they doomed to atrophying minds?

“Doomed to atrophying minds” would be overstating it but it’s a hindering factor:[How the Cold Makes Us Smarter | TIME](http://time.com/136/how-the-cold-makes-us-smarter/)[Winter Wakes Up Your Mind--and Warm Weather Makes it Harder to Think Straight | Scientific American](https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/warm-weather-makes-it-hard-think-straight/)

Cold exposure can be a pretty quick way to quiet the mind, increase focus and improve mood.

I know some people eat a banana before a workout. I myself go with a couple spoonfuls of peanut butter.

I agree that trying a sports drink before working out may help. Listen to your body…sweating and feeling flushed and out of breath is one thing and rather normal. Getting pale and faint is something completely different.

I 100% agree, but that’s not the same as fixing a disease process.

Uhhh, I hate the cold. Let’s start with the first two.

I should have been more explicit: I didn’t mean it in the sense of insulin resistance or diabetes. In addition to its psychological benefits, repeated or prolonged cold exposure may increase metabolism which could help with weightloss, energy and exercise.
