Quasi, you might try training in Ironforge; there’s no rule in the game that you can only train with your own race, as long as you get a Warrior trainer. The Warrior trainers in Ironforge are, imo, much easier to get to than the Warrior trainers in Stormwind.

Might be a tilde (~) rather than a minus. Meaning approximately.

Didn’t need to be there anyway. Bunch of high-level ??'s there. Just wanted to see some different scenery.

We’re spending the night in the Emerald Sanctuary.

I know you won’t see this until Monday, but **thank you** for putting this out here. I’m sure I could have found the setting, but having the post in this thread reminded me to actually set that. It makes such a difference, especially on a huge-ass vehicle!

> Yes, I am tanking for my guild with that HP (well, it’s around 38.5k now). Tanking for the #1 guild on the server, 4/5 TotGC (four bosses ahead of everybody else on BT, and I was in on three of those server-firsts and was in the next week to down the one I missed), and depending on where you look we’re somewhere around the top 800 guilds in the U.S. and close to top 2k worldwide. Dunno what’s skewing your perception of “normal” tank HP… Fully raid buffed, I’m pushing 50k these days.

Ahh then I must be mistaken, our main tank is only about 50K these days. The raid buffs must do more than I thought.

Very…

>
> Dark boss: Light-buffed tank, and light-buffed classes with defensive CDs (Hunters, SPriests, Mages)
> Light boss: Dark-buffed tank, and dark-buffed everybody else…
> When you’re in the doorway, it’s a looooong run to switch buffs, which loses valuable DPS time. Having people with D-CDs on the “other” boss is what allows you to not switch for Vortexes. With the composition outlined above, you have light-buffed people burn those D-CDs (Ice Block, Dispersion, etc.) for a Dark Vortex, and to get the rest of the raid through Light Vortex, you have a Pally use Aura Mastery (on Fire Resist Aura) while the healers dump out big AOE heals and all the DPS use any personal D-CDs (e.g., if I’m running as Arms, I throw on a shield and 1H weap, swap to Defensive Stance, and pop Shield Wall).

Ahh I see and the cooldowns refresh frequently enough to handle every vortex that comes your way? So the Dark Boss’s Vortex is fire damage?

> [@](#):

> For this one particular role on this one particular boss, however, it’s godly. This is because of an odd quirk to the way the Anub adds work. They individually don’t hit for very much–maybe 3k. What makes them dangerous is a debuff they stack on the tank–something like a 25% increase in damage taken for each stack, and it stacks up to nine times. So with a 225% increase to tank damage, and each of four adds hitting for 3k, that’s potentially 27k coming in at a time (3,000 damage x 2.25 multiplier debuff x 4 adds).
>
> But! Because the original incoming damage is so low, you can knock a huge chunk off of it with Block. If you can block 2500 of that 3k hit, now you’re only taking up to 4,500 damage at a time, which is easily healable ((3,000 damage - 2,500 damage blocked) x 2.25 multiplier debuff x 4 adds). Get enough Block Value worked into the set, and you could literally be taking zero damage.

Ahh, I see. Apparently we have several two unhittable paladin in guild. Thanks for the help, I think we will try this next time. I suppose this means we never have to kill any of the adds until Anubarak goes under and then people can kite anubarak when they get targetted. What do you do about teh scarabs?

> Dire bear form does give a 25% bonus to stamina, but I have to wonder what you’re doing with your Resto gear choices if that’s how many hitpoints you have unbuffed as Resto in bear form… I have just shy of 1000 stamina in my Holy kit, and not quite 17k hitpoints, but our Pally tank has over 3000 stamina in his tank kit, and is just shy of 37k hitpoints unbuffed. Adding 25% to my stamina would put me at not quite 20k hitpoints (250 stamina \* 10 hitpoints per = 2500 bonus). Unless you’ve been stacking stamina over other stats, or there’s some other bear form conversion factor at play, I don’t see how you’d get to 32k in a Resto kit.

Oh, I have feral gear and wardrobe. I didn’t mean to suggest that I had 32K with healing gear.

Does the console setting for max camera distance allow a greater camera distance than the built-in UI setting (one patch or another added a slider to change camera distance)?

(I’m currently reformatting and installing Win7 on the desktop, so I can’t check in-game since the laptop isn’t liking to run WoW since WotLK.)

Sounds like you’ve gotten a fair amount of offkit drops. Feral spec only adds 10% stamina, so you’d probably pick up another ~3k by spec’ing Feral. ~35k isn’t bad, but it’s a bit low for a Feral tank, I believe - iirc, bears need to have more hitpoints than an equally geared plate tank, due to the lack of parry and block (I haven’t worked with a bear tank since pre-WotLK). So my point is just that if 36k on a plate tank seems a little low to you, it may be a combo of the fact that your Feral gear isn’t bad, and you’re thinking in terms of Feral hitpoints. 🙂

Well actually that’s with my feral spec. Its good enough for heroics but the main reason I picked it was because the other resto is a moonkin offspec and the two moonkins are both resto offspec so it was very easy to get gear for a feral offspec especially if it is tanking gear (you don’t have to compete with the rogues as much).

But I just came in on the tail-end of this, so I have a Quasi-Q:

The size I show **Wolkie** is in my screen shot of a previous post.

I don’t know if y’all play your characters that size or if you play them smaller, but would that camera-thing \*\*SFG[/] was talking about benefit **us** in any way or is it best left alone, so I don’t fuck something up?😉

Don’t Y’all just LOVE it when I go the whole thread in normal language and then hit ya with an “F-Bomb” on the way out???😃
