I decided to dual spec my warlock first, and it’s been working properly. My main spec is still Affliction, and my secondary spec is demonology. So far, I haven’t hit any bugs or glitches at all. I plan to do it with my mage next. The main spec will still be deep frost, the secondary will be TtW fire.

> Once I hit 68, do you think it’d be wise to go to Northrend?

Yes. I did it with my warrior, for the gear rewards the first few quests give. They were a very nice improvement, and made it easier to finish out the quests I still felt like doing in Outlands.

My moonkin hit 80 last weekend 🙂
As for your question, here’s how I do it on single mobs…

Wrath\>starfire\>roots\>wrath\>wrath.

Usually, the mob either never gets to me, or drops right at my feet.

Wrath\>moonfire\>roots\>wrath\>wrath.

The Wrath has a cast time, and is the “pull”. I hit starfire as soon as wrath starts traveling towrd the target, and immediately hit roots. If I do it just right, it looks like they were all simutaneous. So, the mob has take decent damage and a DOT, just as the roots take hold.

Elitist Jerks makes my head hurt - I guess I’m not much of a theorycrafter. I healed VH yesterday and did OK, but clearly I need some work even if the rest of the group didn’t thinks so. I mainly want to use the Resto stuff on heroics to get the emblems to get better gear - I figure as either DPS or healer I’ll have more opportunities to group. But only if I’m a decent healer.

If no one pipes up I’ll ask my husband tonight (80 resto shaman), otherwise you might find some good advice already posted at the PlusHeal forums.

Just had to re-emphasize this. The only redeeming factor is that it _really_ motivates you to kill him as fast as possible. (Once we figured out that we could damage the heart and it would “carry over” into his next up-phase, the fight became so much easier) We’re trying him on Heroic tonight. Hopefully, it won’t be as head-bashingly frustrating as it was earlier this week.

Anyone tried any post-teleport bosses? Tips / hints? I heard the “inner-trash” was horrible.

Yay, my pally hit 70 last night! Although I’m rather disappointed to discover that my fancy new flying mount (a Snowy Gryphon) is _slower_ than my horse. I’ve been playing in Shadowmoon Valley and have been extremely annoyed by the fact that the FPs there don’t fly _out_ of there - all I could do was fly back and forth between Wildhammer Stronghold and the Altar of Sha’tar. Neither one even has a route back to Shattrath! What’s up with that? When I want to run back to Stormwind (at least once a day to hit the AH) I’ve had to ride all the way back to Shattrath, port to SW, and then hearth back. Annoying as hell. At least now, with my ponderous bird, I can fly back to Shattrath and avoid that infuriating trio of wolf-riding orcs that appear out of nowhere on the road back to Terokkar, and I no longer have to fight my way through that Broken settlement that straddles the road to Shattrath _in_ Terokkar.

I’m kind of confused about Illidan. He fights demons … with other demons? 😕

Fellow Mac users: Take a look at [this thread](http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=4028094861&sid=1) on the WoW forums if you haven’t already. I followed the advice there about my video settings, and the improvement is dramatic. I’ve been tinkering with my settings ever since I started playing back in December, but have never managed better than ~20 fps. Following the machine-specific instructions in that thread, I’m now hitting 40 fps (I might be able to do better, but I followed the advice there and typed the command to cap my fps at 40 to prevent overheating). Also, everything looks much better now.

You’re missing a connecting flightpoint: [Allerian Stronghold](http://www.wowwiki.com/Allerian_Stronghold), in eastern Terrokar. Since you have your gryphon, just fly due south of the Broken town you mentioned and pick that fp up…the fp gryphons go considerably faster than your personal one.

Well I feel like a schmuck. I had no idea I could get to Northrend from Menethil Harbor. Howling Fjords, here I come (hopefully it’ll ding me up to 73 or 74 with it’s quests, then I’ll go back and finish Outland–just have Silvermoon Valley and Netherstorm to go there).

Yeah, we did Kologarn last night on 10-man, and took a few shots at the cat lady. The trash is nasty, but not horrible. Some of it has a trick to it (like the two stone dudes that shoot the spark between them–just kill the spark, then DPS the one it was heading for, then keep going back and forth–they need to die within a few seconds of each other or the remaining one gets a lot bigger and tougher.)

Kologarn isn’t bad if you can keep out of the way of the bad stuff he tosses around, and keep the person he grabs healed.

The cat lady (can’t remember her name–Auriya or something like that) isn’t that bad either–we almost had her, but we ran out of time for our raid, one of our healers DC’ed, and we decided to call it.

We’re going in for Heroic tonight and hoping to get at least Deconstructor, Kologarn, and Auri. We still need to get Razorscale and Ignis, but we saved them because we all wanted to see what was behind the door.

Yeah, I just discovered that one (flew in there on my gryphon, in fact). I completely spaced off the concept of “connecting points”. I guess I grew too accustomed to FPs in “old world” that each connected to multiple points. That, and quest progressions that led me to actually finding the intermediate points. In this particular case, I was sent to Shadowmoon Valleyby a Broken in Nagrand, so I went from there to Shattrath to Wildhammer Stronghold without stopping any place in between.

I happily discovered that my Crusader Aura speeds things up a bit when on my flying mount.

I usually pull with frostbolt (maximum slowing effect) and follow with frostfire, but it starts to vary then. Any time the target “freezes” I slam in an instant icelance timed to arrive right on top of the frostbolt or frostfire (they typically both crit, causing well over 7,000 in one slam). If the mob gets too close, I’ll freeze it manually and move away, unless it’s low on health, in which case I’ll use a cone or a couple of instants to finish it off. If I pull two mobs, it mixes up all over again.

That’s easy to set up. Type /m to bring up your macro screen and type the following (hopefully I’m not going to embarrass myself by telling you something you already know and are talking about a different type of macro)

/startattack
/castsequence reset=target Blizzard, Cold Snap, Cone of Cold, Frost Armor, Frost Nova, Frost Ward, Frost Bolt, Ice Armor, Ice Barrier, Ice block, Icy Veins, Summon Water Elem

I’ll explain a little of what goes on there. The /startattack turns on your melee attack. I like to have it on so if the creature comes in range I’ll strike it. Even if I’m casting a lot of spells you’ll sometimes get a ‘free’ hit that way. If I’m playing a melee character anyway I want it turned on. You can take this out if that’s something you don’t want.

/castsequence is a sequence of actions that are cast in order of your clicks. If it goes through the whole list it will reset on its own. reset=target tells it to start over when the conditions change (if you want it to run the list endlessly you can remove that part, I don’t have a reset for totem drops and certain self buffs). In this case it will reset every time you switch targets. You can use the same actions over and over like Frostbolt, Frostbolt, etc. I just used the list you posted but you’ll of course want to make your own. If you spend some time you can make really complex ones with all sorts of modifiers but if you’re not interested in that the simple template I provided works. One thing you can be aware of is that it has no failsafe involved. You misspell an action it will hang on that action and will not progress. If you don’t have the mana to cast a spell it will hang on that spell (or energy for rogue actions or rage for warriors) and attempt to cast it over and over until you do have the mana needed. However if it casts and the enemy dodges it will go to the next spell regardless. So in short it counts a successful attempt not a successful hit.

I’d create at least two. One a buffing pre-fight sequence and one a battle sequence. If you’re a wand user you might want to add Shoot to the end of the sequence. Adding /petattack will send your elemental off to fight whatever you have targeted (add this outside of the cast sequence).

You know how you came out of the Valley of Trials and there was a road that went north? Follow that road…Razor Hill is RIGHT on that road, halfway to Orgimmar. The signpost is right beside the peon you got that tavern quest from, I think.

Two roads pass through Razor Hill, forming a crossroads. The “tavern” is on the northwest corner of the intersection. It’s the doorway with the mailbox just outside it (which is frequently a good way to spot the inn).

You can also change your “looking for” thingy on your mini-map - click the magnifying glass - to “innkeeper”, which will dot your mini-map where the innkeeper is, and that is always inside the inn.

Thanks, **JayJay** and **Broomie**!

You know, I have the _worst_ trouble spelling that realm, **aruvqan**! 🙂

I started off with Alextrasia and went on to butcher it from there on out. I was the 7th grade spelling champion of all Carroll County, and now it’s as if I suddenly got a frontal lobotomy or something…🙂

Also, I wanted to mention: Coming out of Dagger Hills cemetery, can be really tricky if you’re just a 16. You kinda have to take the long way around to get back to Moonbrook, or else you’ll run into 17 Defiases (I beat on last night, but just barely) 18 Defiases or 18 Dustdevils.

That last one clobbered me just now, and that’s why I took a break to come in here.

I’m now going to Cairn, and finish Quasimodem’s quest. Thanks for the directions!
