He further reports the first year wasn’t bad (new toys! mine to play with! mine to break!) but that they repeated the same tests over and over every year. So the third year in a row you’ve tested new virus checkers, for example, is the year you begin to drink heavily. He has a much better job now. I had the best job in the world, perhaps. I was a paid moderator, chat host, and chat transcriptionist. I chatted with celebs and experts. I worked from home before it was really a viable option for a lot of people. I moderated message boards and picture posts (no real video, just before that technology was really any good for the everyday user.) I had personalized jackboots, even! (Not really, but I wish!) It was heaps of fun and I’d do it again, except for the whole [dot.com](http://dot.com) business model being pretty hopeless. Best three years of my life, jobwise. ---

I’m a really good shot, and I could definitely hit a mountain. I remember hearing about that a couple of years ago when the Army requisitioned the park service howitzers for duty in Iraq. And I agree firing a big gun at a mountain all day long (just to see how many big frigging rocks you can dislodge) sounds like immense fun. However, I’m sure they have other duties that aren’t as fun, like running off drunken louts or trying to find mountain lions, etc. My best friend was a park ranger on the BC-Alberta border and he said it was the best job he ever had.
