No love for Barry Goldwater? He seems to have frightened a lot of voters almost as much as Trump does, and for at least a few of the same reasons.

Honestly, Trump is so bad the Republicans are distancing themselves from them for fear this will haunt them for the rest of their career. I don’t know that that’s been so wide spread in any election. Nov. 9th the Republican’s will be all claiming they didn’t vote for him and did everything to make sure he lost.

[Nope](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_rankings_of_Presidents_of_the_United_States). Carter is ranked #27 on an average of 16 surveys, slightly below average. In the past century, five presidents are ranked worse than him. The only one ranked worse than him since him is Dubya. But even if you were right, the thread is about worst **candidates**.
