I heard this goofball rewrite of “The Twelve Days of Christmas” on the radio in a Bed, Bath and Beyond the other day. Jingle Bell Rock. I had to sing it in a play when I was fairly young. I sang it eight times a day for 4 weeks. Now whenever I hear it it gets stuck in my head for the whole month…Oh great now it’s started again…please…let…it…stop… ---

Everyone who’s heard this song will agree that my nominee is by FAR the worst Christmas song… indeed, the most staggeringly, astonishingly tasteless, wrong-headed SONG of all time. It’s so bad, that when you hear it, you’ll spend a minute thinking “This is a joke, right? It HAS to be a joke.” But it isn’t! It’s Tiny Tim’s “Santa Claus Has Got The AIDS This Year.” The sick thing is, Tiny seems to have been completely sincere… but he had NO apparent grasp of what AIDS is. The lyrics seem to suggest AIDS is like a nasty cold- but don’t worry kiddies, old Santa will be good as new next year! ---
