Oh and I forgot one other one. Audioslave’s “Bring Em Back Alive” has probably the worst solo I’ve ever heard. It doesn’t really even fit the song. This is coming from someone who otherwise considers Tom Morello to be one of the best and most innovative guitarists around today. ---

The solo (preceded by the obligatory shout of “Rock ‘n’ Roll!!!”) in Dr. Hook’s **Cover of the Rolling Stone** is (I think) intentionally bad. ---

The problem with the “Free Bird” solo (my choice for worst) is that it’s too long and too repetitious. I’ll also mention the the guitar in the Amboy Dukes “Journey to the Center of the Mind.” You can hear the guitarist (Ted Nugent) trying to remember what the next chord was supposed to be.
