So we would create a nickname for each sport we were in (our college had extensive intramural sports). For our ragatta, we were “The Laughing Death”. I believe the lacrosse team called themselves “The Flaming Donuts of Jesus”. ---

There’s a high school team out a bit from here with Dogs as the mascot. The girls teams are called “Lady Dogs”, obviously to call them bitches would be much to upsetting. 😃 ---

For the record, the “regatta” consisted of homemade watercraft, usually of plywood and foam insulation. The lacrosse team featured my roommate the goalie who had to use a beer can as a protective cup. ---

Ha! Have you all beat, hands down. Stuyvesant High School (NYC) - The Peglegs Appropriate to the school name, but not very encouraging to the track team. [image of the man himself](http://www.cr.nps.gov/nr/travel/kingston/buildings/peter.jpg) MIT - The Engineers MIT’s mascot was a beaver. The men’s waterpolo team made up some t-shirts for themselves while I was there. They gave themselves a knickname commemorating their watery ways, depilitory habits, and the school mascot. They were instructed not to wear the t-shirts ever again. ---

Oh man, I went to an all-girls Catholic school, and we were the TOLOGS. “What on earth is a TOLOG?” you may be asking. Well, **T** o **O** ur **L** ady **O** f **G** ood **S** uccess Our actual mascot was Teddy TOLOG… a teddy bear suit that wore our uniform skirt and a matching bow between its ears. ---

A school close to where I live has the Huskers. Thier mascot is an ear of corn. Pretty sad. ---
