There are a couple scenes in the Italian film _Travolti da un insolito destino nell’azzurro mare d’agosto_ (aka _Swept Away_) between the rich Raffaella and the poor Gennarino, a Marxist. I mention the class thing because in one of the scenes, Raffaella says something like, “Did the Party tell you all rich women are slutty? You don’t believe that, do you?” and he responds with the, um, memorable (translated) line, “The Party’s sacred and you’re a slut. I’m going to screw you now.” There’s also an almost rape scene that’s pretty unconfortable to watch. ---

Oh, yeah, and “Swept Away” (yup, that was disturbing) reminds me of “Seven Beauties” (well they’re both Italian) and that scene where he’s trying force himself to have sex with the concentration camp commandant. ---

I love Blade Runner, though I have to admit Ive only seen the directors cut. I think its kind of romantic in a psychological things. Its dark, no doubt, but its one of those things where she wants to but she doesnt want to. Part of her just wants to run away from the intimate contact but at the same time she finds solestace with Deckard and Deckard knows this. Deckard just is brave enough to overcome her psyche’s barriers. There’s also all this freudean mother stuff, and maybe some religous implications of Sean Penn’s character being some sort of mother-holy mother person. Deckard obviously loves his mother with all the pictures of her around. Bottom line, its a really cool scene in my book. ---
