For me it’s a tie between _Shadowboxer_ and \*Powder Blue." Both of which are delightfully horrifyingly terrible big-star vehicles. If you haven’t seen them, do. You will die of a giggle fit. ---

For me it’s ‘Pearl Harbor’. Schockety schlock schlock, and cornier than an Iowa silo. When I rented it to watch at home I was glad I wasn’t far from my bathroom because it was tough to squelch the urge to throw up in my mouth. Also, the fast forward button gets a workout like no other movie. ‘Borat’ is the runner up. Billed by some vapid ding-dong acquaintances in my life as don’t-miss hilarious, I got strung along continuing to watch, waiting for the brutally inane inane shit to give way to true funniness: it never happened. ---

I would vote for [Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2239822/). When Cara Delevingne isn’t the worst actress in the movie, you’re in trouble. Rihanna was somehow worse in this than Battleship. Another candidate for worst movie. So I am grading on a curve for money wasted. It would be easy to pick a low budget shitty movie, but with a Budget of $177,200,000 what a waste of effort. ---

I went to see that in the theaters, partly because of my love for _The Fifth Element_ (from the same director). I was _so_ disappointed. ---

Not sure of the budgets for my two nominees but here’s from IMDB re: Shadowboxer: > Mikey [Cuba Gooding] and Rose [Helen Mirren] are professional assassins. [And Rose has cancer] They are also **lovers** , and once upon a time, **Rose and Mikey’s father were lovers.** During an elaborate hit job for a malicious gangster [Stephen Dorff, who keeps zebras in his front yard], Rose fails to kill the main target, the gangster’s **pregnant girlfriend**. Instead, she **delivers her baby** and convinces Mikey to help her protect them both. I have managed to miss all-but-one of the movies posted so far and I thought _Valerian…_ had far too much cool stuff in it to be considered truly awful, especially compared to movies which, even if they were not quite as bad in some ways, had no cool stuff in them. _Catwoman_ (2004) was far worse: abysmal, grating, minimal entertainment value; the best and only good thing in it was the performance of a CG-cat. I haven’t seen it, but possibly “Movie 43”? If for no other reason, the ensemble cast gives plenty of top stars a chance to be awful in it. Rotten Tomatoes rating: 4% ---

The worst movie I have seen is _Boss Baby 2_ though we might want disqualify kids’ movies and only allow movies marketed towards adults otherwise we could be cluttered with horrendous kids’ movies. ---

_Alien Vs Predator: Requiem_ - A movie so bad you literally can’t even see it, the film print is the darkest thing I have legitimately tried to watch that wasn’t a screen that was completely off. You know things are bad about your cinematography when there’s a conspiracy theory that the master print somehow got ruined and they just sent it off to the cinema as is. ---

I’ve only seen small bits of it, but I think Freddy Got Fingered is a top contender. From Roger Elbert’s review—“ This movie doesn’t scrape the bottom of the barrel. This movie isn’t the bottom of the barrel. This movie isn’t below the bottom of the barrel. This movie doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence with barrels.” I don’t recommend reading the rest of the review, because disgusting things happen. It might not be fair to judge a movie I haven’t seen, but I think I know enough about it. I wouldn’t watch this if it was the last movie left on earth and there was nothing else to stream.
