What, in your opinion, are some of the worst fight scenes ever depicted in movies or TV?

Sonny’s dispatching of Carlo was pretty bad, but maybe it is just in comparison to the rest of The Godfather.

There’s a fist fight scene in one of the very early star treks that always stuck in my mind. The two guys don’t even look like Kirk and the other guy he was fighting with. I remember a toupee got jarred loose at one point. Please no jokes that that proves it was really Shatner(well in fact now that I think about it ANY fight scene from any of the original series)

Fight scenes in a lot of anime. Two guys rush together FLASH _dramatic pause_ one drops dead. Huh?

Some Babylon 5 episode where a boxer beats up some martial arts expert. Why this guy didn’t hand the boxer his ass with a few savage kicks was beyond me. (though I think the boxer loses the match in the end but it should have been a landslide)

Any fight where witty banter takes place _cough_ Kull the Conqueror _cough_

The last fight scene in The Hunted. _starts out_ wow this seems very realistic I like how they stumble and grunt…ummm How long is this going to last?..Hey they’re done…no wait…ok now they, no wait…shouldn’t he be dead from the 5th knife slash?

Because in the time it takes the martial artist do go into his dragon spin-reverse-double-gainer-roundhouse kick, the boxer has already punched his lights out.

My memory is hazy, but I saw one movie in which the female lead (probably Cynthia Rothrock) has one basic move, a round kick, and she repeats it about eight billion times. All right, already! GEEZ!

The movie was also notable becuase Cynthia is forcibly raped by Richard Norton, escapes, and gives a thoroughly incongruous victory smile (as well as giving the bad guys the finger) before taking off on a stolen motorcycle. Hello? That’s gotta the quickest rape recovery period ever.

Minbari martial arts looks pretty goofy too… the opponents cross their arms in front of their bodies, stick out their index and little fingers, and then proceed to circle each other.

I disagree. I think that it was pretty vicious, which is precisely what that scene should’ve been. Sonny’s nasty temper, and all that.

As for the worst, see the final fight in Mortal Combat Annihilation. Particularly when Lui Kang and Shao Kahn turn into dragons (or whatever they were supposed to be).

Prophecy 3, the “fight” between Daniel and whoever the hell the angel was at the end. How damn anticlimactic- the battle for humanity lasted all of about 15 seconds.

_Frankenstein Island,_ directed by Jerry Warren. Stars a photograph of John Carradine, since this was the kind of movie he was appearing in by this time, but he died before this one could be filmed.

The climactic scene of the film has the native Amazons (in fake leopardskin bikinis) and the film’s heroes combining forces against Dr. Frankenstein and her (!) zombies (a bunch of guys in black sweaters, black watch caps, and sunglasses). They get into a huge brawl in Frankenstein’s laboratory.

The “zombies” have been told to act like zombies. The “amazons” appear to be a bunch of aging cheerleaders. NO stunt men are used; film doesn’t look like they could afford them. Consequently, the fight appears to have been ad-libbed by the actors, without choreography or any attempt at realism.

It’s hilarious.

Were you referring to the phantom punch in that scene? Because apart from that I thought it was a reasonably good fight scene.

My selection: watch a Bollywood movie and try not to giggle during the fight scenes 😉

Mission: Impossible 2 - remember when Tom Cruise and the bad guy jump off motorcycles at 70mph and collide abdomen first with each other in the air and beat the bejesus out of each other? That was crap man.

That was terrible. What annoyed me even more was the following scene, where there’s a gun semi-covered in sand below Cruise’s feet, he kicks it and it magically pops right up into his hand. Ugh.

Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman get it on rather clumsily in the wretched film version of **The Avengers**. You can see the two lack any sense of coordination and it makes for another awkward scene in film that is full of them.

Most of the fight scenes in the **Rocky** series are decent with the exception of those involving Mr. T. / Clubber Lang.

T. holds his arms out wide and continuously snaps his head back reminiscent of the classic childhood game of Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots. It just didn’t work.

_Surviving the Game_ ([imdb](http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0111323/))

The fight might be between Ice-T’s and Gary Busey’s characters in a cabin. I’m not quite sure because I saw it more than five years ago, but my friend and I watched this one clip maybe 20-30 times because it was so hilariously bad.

The best part is when Ice-T is to be thrown into a door, but instead he jumps and throws himself. I don’t know if it was a bad angle or the wrong take, but it’s really obvious.

The fight scene in \* They Live\* between Roddy Piper and Keith David, when all Piper wanted to do was put a pair of sunglasses on David. That fight just went on and on and on…
Every time I’m about to see that part in the movie I think, “It can’t be THAT long!!”. It is!
