SECONDED!!! This is one of the worst movies I’ve EVER seen. I’ll resist the urge to write a long rant about it, but this movie was a blatant insult–a slap in the face-- to every moviegoer who paid to see it.

I’ll add my tuppence and vote to Dreamcatcher. So bad I actually watched it all just to see if my body could still take the punishment.
Have to say, you **cannot** put Donnie Darko on this list. Its got no place here.

Rented: **Johnny English** the same un-funny “joke” over and over, it might appeal to Jerry Lewis fans. I am not now and have never been a Jerry Lewis fan.

“The Four Feathers”. Yeesh. I saw it on cable, it was 3 a.m. and I was in the throes of an insomnia attack. I kept thinking it would get better. It didn’t.

What’s strange and a little sad is that Rowan Atkinson can do such wonderfully witty verbal comedy yet continues to waste his audiences time on stuff like this and Mr Bean.
His “Satan’s welcome speech” and “Upper class British schoolmaster” sketches are hilarious and don’t need to be seen to be believed as they are just as funny on tape.

I have you all beat **House of the Dead** take an old Sega game and make a really really…realy awful movie out of it.
Seriously it made **Resident Evil** look brillant by comparaison.

**Darkhold** wins. You can all go home now.
I was going to second (or possibly third) _Gothika_, but HotD is generally regarded as the worst film made in the past 10 years. So bad, in fact, that it was nearly Walter Smithee’d. Its biggest star, Clint Howard, has also copped to the fact that it sucked sour frog ass.
As Nigel Tufnel might say, “It’s like, how much more sucky could this be? And the answer is none. None more sucky.”

Gotta agree with you there, **Silentgoldfish**. I rented _Johnny English_ knowing the dizzying heights of genius of which Rowan Atkinson is capable. I was left more than disappointed. I wanted those ninety minutes of my life back. Ditto for the _Mr. Bean_ movie.
What a sheer waste of talent.

I agree with the “South Park” boys - _The Day After Tomorrow_ is one of the funniest comedies this year, an obvious satire on disaster movies.

Thank you! I thought maybe I was lacking something, or perhaps crazy, with the way this movie is being praised. Like, maybe I wasn’t smart enough to get it or something? I vote for this one as well, and I’ve seen Once Upon a Time in Mexico _and_ The Whole Ten Yards (which had me laughing in a few spots, but it wasn’t great, or even really all that good).
I own all three of the above mentioned films, btw. The guy in this house doesn’t believe in renting anymore now that we (finally) have a local Blockbuster at which he buys pre-viewed movies at discount prices. Because of this, I have an ever-growing collection of shitty movies.

I’ve never walked out of a movie, but I got close this year when I saw **Jersey Girl**. Not a single laugh. Not a single emotion felt. It was a pathetic, hollow shell of a movie. In fact, it was so bad, it made me shift my opinion of its director Kevin Smith. I used to be sure he was a brilliant director with a couple of mediocre movies among his great ones. Now I think he may be a talentless hack who got lucky a couple of times. :mad:
On the other hand, I have turned off plenty of DVDs at home. The latest one? **Anger Management**. Holy hell, what were they thinking? We didn’t make it through the first half hour before I feared permantent brain damage would result.

Yes, it really was. And it pains me to say it, because i really find Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale quite appealing, and Richard Roxburgh and David Wenham are also both great actors. But this film was awful, with Jackman being the only redeeming feature, IMO.
My partner was really looking forward to the movie, as she loves these big blockbusters, because often, even if they are bad, they are bad in a good way, if you know what i mean. That is, you can still have a laugh and have fun. But even she thought that this film was bad in a bad way, and just plain dull. The costumes were pretty cool, though.

Worst that I’ve actively seeked out was probably **Manchurian Candidate** but I’m getting better at avoiding bad movies. I didn’t think it was that bad.
On HBO, some of the worst I’ve seen this year were **Transporter** and **Underworld**. Neither did I finish watching.

I enjoyed it for mindless adventure. It was not fantastic, but I did not hate it in the way that others on these boards did.

_ **I, Robot** _ was the worst movie I’ve seen in recent memory. I was frothing with hatred and irritation at how incredibly stupid the plot was.
And I’ve seen \*\*\*Van Helsing, Riddick, Aliens vs. Predator \*\*\* and _ **The Day After Tomorrow** _ (fairly lame but funny, mediocre with nice effects, bad with nice effects, and stupid but sort of entertaining, respectively).
