Marlon Brando (Best Actor for “On the Waterfront” and “The Godfather”): too many to count, but one that springs to mind is “The Island of Dr. Moreau”.

How about Haing S. Ngor?

In his very first movie, he won Best Actor in a Supporting Role for _The Killing Fields_ and from then on, it was nothing but stinkers until his tragic murder:

_The Iron Triangle_
_Vietnam, Texas_
_Ambition_
_My Life_
_Fortunes of War_
_The Dragon Gate_
_Hit Me_

Using **astorian** ’s model:

Geena Davis has made Stuart Little I & II as well as Cutthroat Island post-Oscar (for Accidental tourist)

After her 1973 Oscar Tatum O’Neal made a number of unfortunate choices culminating in Certain Fury which, for all intents and purposes, ended her majors big screen career. Since she made 2 notable TV movies 15 and Getting Straight (1989) and Woman on the Run: The Lawrencia Bembenek Story (1993). As well as more forgettable indie fare.

After Lou Gossett won for Officer and a 'Gent we saw him in Iron Eagles I thru V, & things like the straight to video Legend of the Mummy … and alot of TV movies (incl. being Ringmaster in Circus of the Stars 8)

I don’t think we crapped enuff on Sean Connery (who I really do like). Post Oscar he has made Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Medicine Man, Just Cause, Dragonheart (voice) and First Knight. I’d say his lifetime body of work outweighs these stinkers tho.

Jeremy Irons won the Best Actor Oscar for playing Claus von Bülow in 1990’s **Reversal of Fortune**. He has gone on to star in **Dungeons & Dragons** and **The Time Machine**.

Seriously, for the **D&D** movie alone, Jeremy oughtta win this little contest.

Winning an Oscar does not guarantee that you will be flooded with fabulous scripts. You will be flooded with offers and scripts, yes–but many of those are really crappy movies, which you will get a ton of money upfront if you agree to do it.

Also, Cuba Gooding may not have been offered that many good scripts.

Contrary to popular belief, there is still racism in Hollywood.

Also, a big reason that Oscar winners wind up doing the _“not so great”_ films is because that is where they make their money, **not** on the low budget, critically acclaimed stuff.

And sometimes Oscar winners may just want to do a film that they know is dumb and pointless and stupid, just because they want to.

And there isn’t a damn thing wrong with that.

An Oscar winner might bew flooded with scripts, but if your in the Business, shouldn’t you or your agent know a good movie idea.

I am not in the Business, but I know a good idea and a Suck Ass idea, I almost feel like Chilli Palmer in “Get Shorty”, he comes into LA, like what do you have to know about making movies/writing scripts, half of the movies being made are terrible.
