I watched a funnel cloud form over my head before racing for the basement. It took the roof off a house a block a way. Other tornados distroyed houses within a few miles that day.

The Northridge Earthquake. It’s the only earthquake that’s ever gotten me out of bed. The freeway fell down a couple of exits east of my apartment.
