Sexual harrasment seminars. When I had to attend one of these at a company I used to work for (we all had to, not just me, I swear!), the HR rep was greeting people at the door. She said something like “Revtim, glad you could make it!” (like I had a choice). I said “Well, I thought this would be a great place to meet chicks…” She didn’t see the humor. So then I slapped her ass and said “It’s a joke sweety! This is why women need to just stay home, cook, and collect their man’s semen in their various holes. They can’t figure out what’s going on in the real world!” OK, I didn’t really take the joke quite that far… ---

In an article in the National Lampoon called “How to Not Get Laid”, Gilbert Gottfried claimed the three best places to not meet girls are (in order): 1. A _Star Trek_ convention; 2. Within a one-block radius of a _Star Trek_ convention; and 3. Anywhere in the remote vicinity of a _Star Trek_ convention ---

Banker bars. You know the ones, dark wood, no loud music, preponderance of martini drinkers. People go there to talk about 2 things: the men about work and sports, and the women about work and people they already know. If you don’t already know these women, you are a distraction. Go away. ---

So in case anybody’s really interested in where not to meet women… Any bar with a lot of tables. If everybody is sitting around in groups there’s not much opportunity to mingle. Room at or by the bar or lots of standing around room is best. ---

Magic – The Gathering tournaments Heck, almost any tournaments or meeting involving a game of some sort. There are certainly some exceptions (Bingo, Bridge, etc), but I’ve had awful luck so far. ---

The first floor of the building where I work - it’s an IT lab and the entire workforce is composed of males, aged 21-35, who seem not to know how to have conversations with any females. _SW gets in lift full of these guys. She is holding three coffees:_ Hi, could one of you guys please press the button for 5? _Guys:_ :rabbit caught in headlights look: uh? _Other guys:_ Erg? _Still other guys to first guys:_ We need to re-jigg the hardrive to Defcon 4. Heh…heh. Um. _SW presses 5 and spills coffee._ ---
