Chocolate Malt-o-Meal. I did not like it!

I was going to jump on the anti-Grape Nuts bandwagon, but the idea of them warmed up with honey and milk actually sounds pretty appealing. Gonna have to try that if I ever find a box over here.

Furthermore, I stand proud and unashamed of my love for Cinnamon Toast Crunch. There have been times when the box did not last even 24 hours after coming home from the grocery store. Y’all don’t dig it? Perfectly fine, more for me.

I seem to recall disliking Product 19 as a child, but haven’t had any in decades so I won’t go with that one. Most of the Cap’n Crunch cereals I can’t stand because I do like keeping the lining of my mouth intact, but the Peanut Butter Crunch is the exception.

I suppose the one I’d refuse to eat if it were still being manufactured today is blueberry Waffle-Os. Absurdly nasty artificial flavor.

I hate any cereal that tastes fruity, like fruit loops, fruity pebbles, etc.

Having dissed Fruity Pebbles upthread, I should point out that they’re my least favorite _mass market_ cereal. The absolute _worst_ cereal I ever had was a cocoa-flavored kosher-for-Passover cereal. I don’t remember its name (Kosher-O’s, maybe?) But it managed to combine the instant slimy/soggy quality of Fruity Pebbles with the once and future staleness of matzah with just a hint of library paste.

> My least favorite was the full-size shredded wheat. Spoon-size shredded wheat I can handle, but there was something about scrunching up those full-size shredded wheat… cakes? biscuits? I’m not even sure what the “units” were called… into a bowl and adding milk that just made it seem like eating a bowl full of hay.

[Rolls?](http://www.tansleymethodist.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Harvest_Roll-678x451.jpg) 😛

As a kid I loved everything with sugar. Peanut Butter Crunch? Yummy! Froot Loops/Fruity Pebbles? Mmm… Anything with little marshmallow bits? More!
As an adult, I like Grape Nuts just fine, although I will concede that you have to absolutely drown them in milk to make them moist enough.
Re. grits, they’re a crapshoot- I’ve had truly delicious grits and really bad grits. They’re best when you can pressure cook them or keep them in a steamer for a really long time. And forget the just-add-water instant grits, they’re like instant oatmeal compared to the cooked stuff.

I don’t really remember a cereal I truly hated because if I don’t like it I never buy it again and forget about it. I’d have to say that malt-o-meal or cream of wheat didn’t appeal to me.

For me, it’s either puffed wheat (think [del]Super Sugar[/del] Golden Crisp without the benefit of super sugar) or puffed rice. The former would get soggy within seconds of making contact with milk, and the latter just had no real taste.

I can’t believe I’m the first to mention these.

For you Shredded Wheat dislikers:

Might I suggest a preparation my dad taught me -
Put the biscuits (Bales? :dubious:) in a bowl. Cover with hot water (Tap is hot enough), soak for about a minute. Drain, and add butter and sugar.

Makes a nice hot cereal.

Now, with a microwave oven, you could use milk as the liquid, if you figure out the right amount

I’ve have both plain puffed wheat and Grape-nuts in my cupboard right now. I guess I like bad things, but I’ll take them over sweetened cereals any day.

My paternal grandmother used to have only “puffed rice” in the house for breakfast cereal. Needless to say, we weren’t all that fond of sleeping over there. Inedible stuff.

Then you’re the direct opposite of my Mom. For something like 20 years now (she’s 85) she has regularly eaten Cheerios for breakfast. Never any other cereal. With 2% milk, which I also use-- but no sugar! (I eat a wide variety of cereals, some sweetened, some not. When my cereal has run out, I even eat Cheerios myself; they were popular with us three kids.)

Did you put shrimp in it? It’s much better with shrimp in it.

Also I have a box of Peanut Butter Crunch in the cubbard right now. It’s one of my go too.

The worst would have to be Grapenuts. By the time it softens up enough to actually eat the milk is warm and yucky.

My least favs have definitely been mentioned - Froot Loops, tasteless grain cereal with fakity fake fake tasting wizened up marshmallows that taste like chalk. Probably my biggest food fail as a kid. I begged and begged for my mom to buy some, then when I tasted it, I was crushed. But since I asked for it specifically, I had to eat it until it was gone.

The other is plain oatmeal. In my house, when you’d been a bad kid, you were sent to your room with a bowl of plain oatmeal instead of dinner. I will always remember it as the lumpy, pasty, taste of humiliation.

Does anyone remember that Nintendo branded cereal back in the late 80’s? Inside the box were 2 separate bags. One bag held the almost palatable Legend of Zelda cereal, saved only by the Maalox marshmallows. Inside the other bag was the god awful Mario Bros cardboard that was just the Zelda cereal sans marshmallows.

THIS! I hate all hot cereal. Every single kind.

I don’t really like cereal, come to think of it. Toast and silence. That’s what I want.

\<sarcasm\>Thanks a bunch \</sarcasm\> for reminding me of the grossness that is puffed rice cereal. Super Sugar Crisp (I’m old) was a disappointment, but the unsweetened, bulk packaged plain puffed rice with which my mom replaced it was a bowl ‘o’ misery for sure.

I haven’t had breakfast cereal in quite a while, but I do like Grape Nuts. I always used to mix it with another cereal like Cheerios or Frosted Flakes; it provided a very satisfying crunch.

Also, although I haven’t had it in many years, I used to love Cap’n Crunch, especially as a teenager. As much of it as I used to eat, I was obviously okay with having my gums and palate shredded at least three times a week.

The cold cereal I hate, and which I believe I read was recently discontinued, is Kellogg’s Corn Pops because of its vile aftertaste.

Another hated cereal for me for the same reason as Corn Pops is Honey Smacks, which I think is just a re-branding of Sugar Smacks. Simply terrible.
