Anybody else reading this? I re-read 1-9 in preparation for it coming out, and managed to generate some enthusiasm for the series again, even though my attempt to re-read #10 was derailed by the fact that it was boring, nothing happened, and I wanted to constantly smack the author.
I only got a little way into the prologue last night, but _damn_, already more stuff happened than has occurred in the last two books! I’m guardedly optimistic!
Any other pious WOTists out there? Recovering WOTists? Or did RJ wreck the fun for too many of you to try it once more?

I have it ordered with Amazon. It despatched yesterday. I fly to Moscow for 2 weeks on Monday. I am really hoping that Amazon get it to me before Monday, or I have to wait for two weeks. Come on Amazon!!
I have always been a huge fan of this series. Buy them as soon as they come out and reread them all in preparation for every release. I have to agree with the general consensus that quality has been dropping off lately, but I am not as critical as most. I thought the prologue was promising and have high hopes. I just pray that I get to read about a wind starting in the Black Hills (or wherever) on my plane on Monday.

I’ve made it as far as Chapter 14. Best book since _Lord of Chaos_, without a doubt.

New baby has seriously impacted my reading speed. I’m only halfway through book 5 now. I’m going to pick up the new one here in a week or two, but probably won’t get to read it for another month or so…_sigh_

**Draelin** , you encourage me. I’ve felt that things began to slide significantly after _Lord of Chaos_. So much wasted potential, after Dumai’s Wells.
I must admit it was his prequel, _The New Spring_, that re-generated my enthusiasm. It sat unread (in its expanded format) for over 6 months before I forced myself to push thru it, then it was like “hey, he’s back in the groove, sorta”.

This is really exciting for me to hear! We’re going on a cruise 10/23, and I was wondering what I would be taking with me to read. I had forgotten all about this one. I’ll check and see if my local Sam’s Club has it and pick it up this weekend. I’m hoping that I’ll only need to bring this one book for the whole week. (I’m sure I’ll stick a couple of fluff paperbacks in the carryon, but this can be my project!)

I got hooked on the series four years ago by someone who neglected to tell me that the series’ end had not yet been written. I got sucked in, read all the published books and hungered for more. Waiting was torture. I bought book number ten the day it came out. When I was finished, I vowed I would not a read another word Jordan wrote until the whole damn thing was done. So far I have kept to that vow. I hardly even think about them anymore, I’m just keeping my eye out for the final book.

Jordan’s definitely gotten his groove back. I reread _Crossroads of Twilight_ in preparation, and nearly died of boredom, it seemed. Last night, I absolutely couldn’t put the book down.
Spoiler includes something I, at least, had been waiting five books for, without giving away any plot lines:
Chapter 10 contains the entire text of the letter Moiraine wrote to Thom just before facing Lanfear.

But do we find out who killed Asmodean?? 😉
It will be nice to begin moving towards a resolution of the Moiraine in Finnland subplot.

I’ve borrowed this and am not even finished with the prologue yet, but for the first time six book eight I’ve been feeling the urge to read it again. I have off this weekend, and I’m going to finish it. I may even be compelled to re-read the first 6 or so again.

I’ll be reading this thread to determine how high up on the list it moves. I’ll read it eventually regardless, because I am RJ’s bitch, but currently I’m not planning to get to it until I finish rereading George RR Martin’s series in preparation for HIS next book. If you all agree it’s really good, I might have to move it up a bit.

I have my books!. Not only has ‘Knife of Dreams’ arrived in time, but so has
‘A Feast for Crows’. The only problem now, is can I put off reading them until my flight? That’s going to seem like one short journey!
