to that last part, in Brazil where cars often run on neat ethanol, but in regions where it gets colder many cars have a small auxiliary gasoline tank for cold starts.

Can You Drive a Car on Moonshine? by MythBusters tried using E-96 moonshine in three unmodified vehicles. The carbureted 70s car barely ran. The other two cars were fuel-injected: the 90s car ran poorly, but the 2013 vehicle ran fairly well.
