# Would a public transportation accident change your habits?

Heh, I was just thinking about that earlier today! I wouldn’t stop taking public transportation unless there was some serious institutional problems leading to accidents and not just bad fortune. But I’ve thought about sitting in the backwards facing seats on the train.

If [this crash](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amagasaki_rail_crash) didn’t change my commuting habits, no crash would.

A bulging waistline was much more persuasive than twisted wreckage and a hundred deaths at getting me to bike to work each day.

-The last time I rode on a city bus, the fellow who sat beside me had and accident – he pissed in his seat. So yes, a public transportation acccident changed my habits.
