Maybe you could have Pope Martinez, like that one show on _King of the Hill_ with the crime-fighting priest? _Vaya, con dios!_ BANG!!! OMIGOD. I’m now going to flip 180 and completely embrace Faith Is Good’s original West Wing/Sci Fi/Historical Drama proposal, if we can just grab one character from comics (where else?) and and slightly tweak his background so he operates from the Vatican to beef up the “Sci-Fi” part (which might better be served by being more ‘supernatural’ than scientific, but WRYB) [WARRIOR’s Father Shandor.](http://www.internationalhero.co.uk/s/shandor.htm) ---

Upon reflection, I think the best way to approach this is to do it with muppets. Make Kermit the Frog Pope. Fozzie, Swedish Chef, Beaker, Bunsen, Gonzo, et. al. as Cardinals. Miss Piggy, Janice, et. al. as nuns. Each week have a well known celebrity guest star. **Willem Dafoe** , for example, could appear as Jesus. **David Bowie** would really rawk as teh Devil. **Penn and Teller** Franciscan monks… I’m telling you this could be the next big thing.
