Would an adoption agency lie?

The guy who sits in front of me at work (German) could easily pass for Gengis Khan’s great-great-great…grandchild to anybody who isn’t himself Asian*, except for the detail that his eyes (when he opens them enough to see) are actually blue.

Oh wait.

Them Mongols did come this way, gee!

*or whatever the correct PC term is nowadays. I know “Asian” strictly speaking would include Turks, for example, and it’s not what I mean, but hell… you guys know what I mean, right?

eee

That’s a creative way to kill a thread. I usually just post something that I think is appropriate and pithy/humourous, and that does the trick.

Sorry.

I was leaning over the keyboard.

Post some ypur hubbys baby pics. We’ll make a WAG and set you all straight!

Most of us only go “eee” over threads with cat or dog pictures. But I guess if descendants of Ghengis Khan do it for you… well, no accounting for taste, I guess

My Mom used to give my (100% German-descended, as far as we know) Dad a hard time about how far west those Mongols made it, based on his epicanthic folds.

YES!
Thank you very mucho!

While I was serving in the Army I was acquainted with a guy, the boyfriend of a gal in my barracks, who had a mother who was from Japan. Yet I never knew it until he mentioned he was going to take leave in Tokyo, to meet some relatives he’d never seen. He didn’t look “half Asian” to me, lacking the epicanthic fold for his eyelids.

And while at Ft. Devens in Massachusetts I knew a little girl whose mom came from Korea. Kid had the eyefold, with green eyes, bronze colored hair(her Caucasion father was a red-head), pale amber skin and loads of freckles. She was going to break a lot of hearts someday if she lived to grow up. Little brat had a poisonous personality, a real bully to the other kids.
