Would people in the US really try to fight the military/police with hunting rifles?

Not to answer for him, but there’s no inherent reason why someone inclined to do one type of community service is required to others, if he so views what he does as community service. I mean - a guy who works at a soup kitchen isn’t failing to do community service because he doesn’t also pick up litter. So I don’t see how the homeless shelter criticism invalidates his claims. You could say his time would better serve the community that way - but they have no logical connection outside of that.
