Was wondering. If apporached by a member of the gender that you are attracted to and propositioned re the OP, what would your reaction be? Please give various scenarios as person is mutually attractive, not attracted to person, etc. ---

Well, I’m fifteen years old and therefore am not planning to have sex any time soon. However, a guy I was attracted to told me that he wanted to kiss me, and I most certainly assented. Rob, I’m wondering if you are considering actually doing this… ---

I have been on the receiving end of this particular tactic and yes, it worked. I have also used it successfully (just the once; I was feeling very brave). I think the person trying it has to be _really_ sure that they’ll get an affirmative answer. Otherwise the consequences could be unpleasant. ---

It would entirely depend on the setting, the person and how impaired I was. Last time something like this happened he didn’t say he wanted to have sex with me, but he followed me into a stall in the club restroom and started making out with me, which worked just as well. ---

If propositioned in the manner of the OP I’d probably run away with my hands over my face giggling. Seriously, I’ve been in a situation where those words weren’t uttered but the other party was sexually aggressive and I found it slightly intimidating. I think I’d decline if asked out right, regardless of attraction (I don’t know that I’d be attracted, personality wise, to someone who used that approach anyway). ---

If I were not in a committed monogamous relationship, and an attractive lad or lass asked me for a shag, I would be most pleased. I’d probably run around the room doing some sort of goal celebration. ---

At first I’d be flattered and intrigued. Soon though, my paranoia would kick in, and I would start thinking how I’d probably wake up in a bathtub full of ice with the words “call 911” written in my own blood on the wall. (Don’t bother pointing me to snopes. I know.) I did once ask a woman if she’d like to get out of the noisy bar we were in and go rut like animals, and she agreed. I assume the universe was experiencing a bizarro anomaly that evening. ---

Interesting that many seem to be assuming that the person asking this question is a stranger – the OP did not make this specification. I’d be extremely unlikely to have sex with a stranger under any circumstances, and would find such a remark very creepy unless perhaps I were someplace like a singles bar where people might go to hook up. A straightforward offer of/request for sex from someone I already wanted to have sex with would certainly work. From someone I had not previously considered sex with or whom I was ambivelant about, I’d have to think about it. From someone I did not want to have sex with, I’d say “No, I’m sorry” and hope that things wouldn’t be too awkward between us in the future. ---

It happened to me twice (long before I was married) - the first time it was a girl that I did actually happen to fancy, but I was young, naive and too nervous to take her offer seriously; nothing happened. The second time, the young lady, though physically very attractive, was…um…_scary_ so I politely declined. ---

This actually _did_ happen to me once… I’d had a party for one of my friends who was moving away, and afterwards a couple of people were staying over because they’d either had too much to drink or had a long drive. Most every one had gone to bed except for one guy who was the ex of a friend of mine. We were watching some television and chatting, and out of the blue he looks at me and says: “Do you want to have sex with me right now?” (right now? 😕 ) I was pretty sure that my ears were lying to me, so I asked him what he’d said, and sure enough, he repeated it. I said ‘no thanks’ and went on to bed… However, if he’d been someone I’d actually been interested in, I probably would’ve said yes. 😉 ---
