If the person was doing it because they liked me? I don’t see a problem. The only reason such behavior is creepy is if you think the person intends you harm. Sir, you are cracking me up. Nobody said there was “spying” or “stalking.” There was a message left, which in your view is “creepy.” You don’t have to spy on someone to leave her a love note. ---

If it was on the inside doorknob, it would be creepy as hell. As it is, meh. My guess is someone thought you were down about something, and wanted to let you know there are people (anonymous, creepy people) who care. ---

Wow, what a bunch of paranoids we have here. I’d assume it was from a neighbor or somebody thanking me anonymously for some good deed I did. Shoveled their walk perhaps? Helped them fix their kid’s bike, pulled their garbage cans off the street, gave them some Xmas cookies, called them to let them know their garage was still open at 11 p.m. or that their dog got loose again. I could think of dozens of things. It said “One of a kind” for god’s sake. Not “My sweet secret sexy lover, I’m watching you, where were you last night, now I’m mad, you wouldn’t like me whan I’m mad…” ---

It wouldn’t bother me in the least. Weird things happen all the time. I would ask a few people if they knew anything about it, and if not I would shrug and forget about it. I would assume it was a thank you from a kind neighbor and leave it at that. Nothing creepy at all. ---

It’d certainly be weird, but not creepy. Now if it was recurring I’d be freaked out, but just once on the door knob would just be “huh, odd.” ---

I would be mildly creeped (though lots of friends who are pretty random know where I live). The biggest feeling would be curiousity. It would be KILLING me that I didn’t know who left it. As it is, I am subscribing. Please let us know if you find out. ---

As an isolated incident, I don’t think I would think much about it beyond mild curiosity to know who it was. I don’t think I’d find it especially romantic either, though. If it started happening regularly, or was part of a longer string of similar events then I would probably start to worry. ---
