ain’t nothing there worth droppin a nuke. all we would do is redistribute the rubble.

Nuclear weapons? Are you people kidding? Even if another country launched a single nuclear bomb or Anthrax virus or other weapon of mass dectruction, we are not going to attack them with nuclear missles. While the instant gratification factor of seeing a mushroom cloud in your enemies capital is great, politics and common sense pretty much garantee that we wont ever use nukes. Pretty much any military objective that can be acomplished with a nuke can be acomplished with conventional weapons (it just requires a little more).
IMO, the only scenario you would see American nukes used is one where failing to do so would result in our anihilation. ie, We are under MASSIVE nuclear attack from a foreign country or our field armies collapsed and nukes are the only thing between the United States an army of 10,000,000 screaming extremists pouring across our borders from Canada or we’re attacked by space aliens or something.
